It's a particularly good choice for:
- Back and stomach sleepers
- Heavier-weight side sleepers

- Couples
- Restless sleepers
- Those looking for a premium product
- Indecisive people since it comes with a 365-day trial
- Those who want a mattress that lasts

DreamCloud mattress composition
The DreamCloud Luxury Hybrid is a 28 cm (11") mattress combining multiple layers of pocket springs and memory foam for a good balance of comfort and support.
It features 5 unique layers:
1. Luxury quilted cover with cooling technology
We love the quilted design of the DreamCloud mattress cover, which feels soft and high-quality. 🤗
There is clear attention to detail in the overall design of the cover, though we did notice some loose threads and bits of fluff sticking out of the material.
This wasn't a major concern for us since it didn't affect overall performance and the mattress would be covered anyway, but it may be an issue for some.
You'll notice that the mattress in our pictures looks slightly different to the one on the DreamCloud website.
This is because the design of the cover has been updated to one with navy blue sides:
Despite the different appearance, the cover's characteristics are still the same.
It features four side handles, which make moving the mattress much more effortless - you should rotate your DreamCloud mattress every six months or so to ensure it stays in the best condition. ✨
Unfortunately, the DreamCloud mattress cover is not removable.
We prefer mattresses with covers that can be removed and washed, as this can protect the bed from accidents and increase its overall lifespan. ⏳
Since the cover is non-removable, we'd highly recommend purchasing a waterproof mattress protector to safeguard your mattress against stains, spills, dirt, and moisture.
2. “Dream Plush” memory foam layer
This extra-breathable layer of memory foam provides deep contouring support to keep you comfortable no matter your sleeping position.
3. Dynamic transition layer
The transition layer provides additional support between the softer memory foam and the firmer support foam and pocket springs.
4. Support foam
The support foam layer ensures your spine remains in optimal alignment, no matter your sleeping position.
5. Reinforced edge spring unit
The spring unit consists of 15 cm (5.9") premium pocket sprung coils with ActivEdge support, providing an exceptional level of support and minimising motion transfer all the way up to the very edge of the mattress.
DreamCloud Sleep uses high-quality materials in its mattresses, and all foams are CertiPUR® certified [1].
What does sleeping on the DreamCloud mattress feel like?
From the get-go, you can feel the DreamCloud memory foam mattress is made with high-quality materials.
It felt sturdy and supportive with a firmer-feeling comfort that we adapted to after just a few days.
How firm is the DreamCloud Luxury Hybrid mattress?
We initially found the DreamCloud Luxury to be very firm, and it took a few days for our bodies to adjust to this feeling, particularly in the side sleeping position.
After a few weeks, though, the mattress began to soften and we completely adjusted to sleeping on it.
We'd rate it as a 7.5 out of 10 on our Sleep Hero firmness scale, where 1 is the softest and 10 is the firmest. 🧱
In order to better assess overall firmness and edge support, we ran a couple of tests, which you can read about below.
Testing firmness by measuring sinkage depths
We did a couple of sinkage depth tests to see how the DreamCloud mattress fared for different body types, weights, and sleeping positions.
Our initial test was to see how much we sank into the mattress when standing right in the middle.
As you can see from the image below, the result here came to around 13 cm (5.11 inches), which is about the same amount as the Simba Hybrid (surprisingly, since the Simba Hybrid is much softer overall).
Our next tests analysed how test sleepers of differing body weights sank into the mattress in various sleeping positions.
Person A (1.67m/54 kg/ 119 lbs) | Person B (1.79m/ 98 kg/ 216 lbs) | |
Sleeping on the side |
Shoulder: 3 cm (1.18 inches) Pelvis: 3 cm (1.18 inches) |
Shoulder: 5 cm (1.9 inches) Pelvis: 6 cm (2.3 inches) |
Sleeping on the back |
Shoulder: 1.5 cm (0.59 inches) Pelvis: 2 cm (0.78 inches) |
Shoulder: 3.5 cm (1.3 inches) Pelvis: 5 cm (1.9 inches) |
Sleeping on the stomach |
Shoulder: 1.8 cm (0.70 inches) Pelvis: 1 cm (0.39 inches) |
Shoulder: 2 cm (0.78 inches) Pelvis: 2 cm (0.78 inches) |
Our results show that there is very little sinkage in all positions, but particularly in the stomach sleeping position.
This suggests that the DreamCloud will be suited to different types of sleep profiles, which we'll look at in more detail in the next section on comfort.
Testing overall edge support
We also tested how much sinkage there was at the very edge of the mattress. ⚓
Some people like to sit on the edge of the bed in the morning, so it was essential to find out if the DreamCloud mattress has good edge support.
There was some moderate sinkage at the edge of the mattress, but it still felt comfortable and supportive to sit on.
It also felt very comfortable right up to the edge during sleep and didn't give that "rolling off" feeling you get with some mattresses.
Overall, we thought the DreamCloud Luxury Hybrid mattress had good edge support. ✔️
How comfortable is the DreamCloud Luxury Hybrid for different sleep positions?
Here's how the DreamCloud mattress fared in our comfort tests for different sleeping positions:
Is the DreamCloud mattress good for side sleepers?
We feel the DreamCloud mattress could be slightly too firm for lighter-weight side sleepers.
These sleepers would need a soft to medium mattress that moulds easily around the body, and we felt the DreamCloud mattress didn’t mould around the body quite as well as some other hybrid options.
For those who weigh under 50 kg (110 lbs), you might consider the Simba Hybrid mattress instead.
However, for those weighing over 90 kg (198 lbs), the DreamCloud mattress is likely to feel comfortable in the side position. 🥰
Our sinkage depth tests showed the mattress adapted much more easily to our heavier-weight tester and provided great pressure relief during sleep.
Is the DreamCloud mattress good for back sleepers?
We felt the most comfortable on the DreamCloud mattress in the back sleeping position. 👍
In this position, the DreamCloud mattress supported both our bodies well and encouraged the natural alignment of the spine and neck. 🥰
Our sinkage depth tests showed that the mattress adapted around the pelvis and shoulders for both weights just the right amount in the back sleeping position.
Back sleeping is the healthiest position as it puts the least pressure on your spine and distributes weight evenly across the mattress.
If you’re not a back sleeper, you might consider changing to this sleeping position. 😮
Is the DreamCloud mattress good for stomach sleepers?
We also felt the DreamCloud mattress was suitable for light to average-weight stomach sleepers. 👌
Stomach sleeping puts the most pressure on your spine [2].
Therefore, it’s vital to have a firm mattress to keep the spine straight and aligned with the neck.
The spine remained straight and neutral with the neck, and the heavier parts of the body remained supported.
Softer mattresses, such as the Simba Hybrid, create more of a bend in the spine in this position, which can lead to waking up with lower back pain.
Yet, we felt no aches and pains in this position on the DreamCloud mattress.
Does the DreamCloud mattress sleep cool?
Overall, we had no issues with sweating or excessive overheating [3] whilst sleeping on the DreamCloud. 😅
However, the mattress did feel warmer than some others we've slept on.
While cool when we got into bed at night, you could sometimes feel the heat that had been retained in the mattress overnight - especially during warmer nights.
We did the test the DreamCloud mattress on a divan base, which doesn't circulate air very well - for a cooler sleep, we'd recommend using a slatted base.
If you feel cold at night, you can ensure this mattress will keep you nice and toasty all night long.
Why would the DreamCloud mattress retain some heat?
Memory foam is well-known for retaining heat during the night.
As the DreamCloud memory foam mattress has a hybrid structure, this isn’t too much of an issue when compared with full memory foam mattresses such as Nectar or Tempur.
The pocket springs in the bottom layer of the mattress allow heat to dissipate through the gaps for better ventilation.
High-quality memory foam is also made with an open-cell structure, which is much better at dispersing heat than cheap, closed-cell foam.
But any mattress with memory foam is likely to feel a little warmer than non-memory-foam options.
Does the DreamCloud have good motion isolation?
The DreamCloud Luxury Hybrid mattress has very low motion transfer. 🧘
We were extremely impressed with how well the DreamCloud bed absorbed motion.
We found ourselves waking up in the same position we fell asleep in with no disturbance at all throughout the night.
What exactly is motion isolation?
Motion isolation refers to how much a mattress absorbs movement.
You might be thinking, but I don’t jump on the bed - why is this important? 🧐
High-transfer mattresses aren’t able to absorb any kind of movement across the mattress.
This includes your partner getting out of bed at night to use the toilet or even your own restless movements while asleep.
High motion transfer mattresses can feel a bit like you’re on a boat at sea. ⛵
However, low motion transfer mattresses absorb movement.
This means you can rest completely undisturbed, no matter who is jumping up and down on the bed. 🤸♂️
How did we test the DreamCloud's motion isolation?
Just to show you how well the DreamCloud mattress absorbed motion, we performed some mini-tests.
Check them out in this video! 👇
As you can see, the mattress absorbed every movement and prevented the glass from spilling! 🥛
DreamCloud mattress sizes
The DreamCloud mattress is available in a limited selection of standard UK sizes:
- DreamCloud single mattress: 90 x 190 cm (3' x 6'3")
- DreamCloud double mattress: 135 x 190 cm (4'6" x 6'3")
- DreamCloud king size mattress: 150 x 200 cm (5’ x 6’6”)
- DreamCloud super-king-size mattress: 180 x 200 cm (6’ x 6’6”)
The mattresss measures 28 cm (11 inches), although ours came a few centimetres short of this at just under 25 cm (9.8 inches). 📏
We thought this might be due to the mattress needing a little more time to expand - full expansion can take as long as 48 hours!
However, we measured the mattress again a week later, and it remained under 25 cm deep. 🤔
DreamCloud mattress prices and discount codes
(Note: prices listed above are standard prices excluding any current coupons & discounts)
The DreamCloud Luxury Hybrid is defnintely a high-end mattress, but it comes in at phenomenal value for money.
Occasionally, DreamCloud Sleep will also offer coupon or discount codes.
While these used to be more regular, it's not often you'll find a DreamCloud discount code these days.
That said, DreamCloud mattresses are still worth the money - these are premium products that come with a Forever Warranty, and who can put a value on a mattress that lasts forever?
DreamCloud delivery and trial conditions
The DreamCloud mattress comes with free UK delivery and is generally shipped within 5 days.
You'll also get free named day shipping, allowing you to decide when you want your mattress delivered.
The mattress is delivered in a box, reducing the carbon footprint, as more deliveries can be made from a single van. 🚚
Overall, we were pleased with the entire delivery process - Team 58 delivered our mattress on time and were friendly and efficient.
How do you unbox your DreamCloud mattress?
Once you receive your mattress, you can begin unpacking it from the box. 📦
Keep the leaflet that has details of your warranty and the cutter to help you unpack the mattress safely.
Once your mattress is out of its box, it will look a bit like a burrito wrapped up in plastic. 🌯
Use the provided cutter to remove the plastic wrapping carefully.
As soon as you remove the outer plastic, the mattress will start unravelling and expanding. 🎈
It kind of has a life of its own, so be careful to stay well clear!
You can then remove the second layer of plastic.
You should wait at least 5 hours before dressing or sleeping on the DreamCloud mattress, so we recommend unpacking it in the morning or afternoon.
The mattress will then continue to expand over the next 24 - 48 hours. ⏲️
After 5 hours, your DreamCloud mattress will be ready to use.
We recommend using the DreamCloud mattress protector, DreamCloud bedding, DreamCloud duvet, and DreamCloud pillows for the full luxury experience.

Pretty cool, huh?
What is the DreamCloud 365-day sleep trial?
The DreamCloud mattress comes with a whopping 365-night trial period.
This means you have 365 days to try the mattress in any position and under any conditions you like.
Most UK mattress brands only offer you 200 nights, but with DreamCloud, you get an entire year to decide if you love this mattress. 🥰
How do DreamCloud mattress returns work?
If you decide you're not happy with your DreamCloud, you just need to follow the returns process.
Firstly, ensure your DreamCloud Hybrid Pocket Spring mattress is clean and undamaged, and that you're returning it within 365 days.
Then, simply contact the DreamCloud customer service team.
They will arrange collection and refund your money once they have received the mattress.
What is the DreamCloud forever warranty?
The DreamCloud Luxury Hybrid mattress also comes with a lifetime warranty. 😱
This guarantees that the mattress will be free from defects in workmanship and materials for as long as you own and use it.
The coils used in the mattress are the most durable in the industry, and they’re guaranteed not to break during your lifetime. 🛠️
There are some conditions to this warranty, though.
- For the first ten years, you will have complete protection and, given the mattress has a fault, it will be replaced free of charge.
- After 10 years, the mattress will be repaired, recovered or replaced depending on the level of damage, and the right course of action will be at the company's discretion.
That being said, the warranty is genuinely forever, and if a fault is found within your lifetime, you won’t be required to pay any additional charges. 😍
Check the DreamCloud website for full terms and conditions.
